I stripped the index screw that uses 1/16 allen wrench on an A2 rear sight try to set the battle sight settings. How big of a mess do I have now? stupid just over tightened it. watched the video on line on how to install the sight and see you benefit from special tools but can I get the sight apart with the stripped screw ? thanks in advance

If you have it set, you won't have to mess with it again.

yes it is set. I shot the rifle today with the new settings and it seems to work great. I am not sure I fully understand how the elevation drum is supposed to be set when the sight is installed new. My rifle on 8/3 was not "bottomed out" but at 8/3 -3clicks I get a good group at 100 yards. I will need to put some more rounds down range to learn more. I don't know of a place yet I can shoot farther than 100 yards but I will start looking.

Thanks for the help. anyone with more to add? I would appreciate all assistance. JC

Thanks, I have been reading for several days - learned a lot. This thread is what got me to adjust the sights to the BS theory.
