but - but - didn't anyone tell them that "shooting IPSC will get you killed!" (yeah, right!). And so dies another myth.

Thanks for posting those here.

just frickin awesome. gives our brothers something to do and have fun. pistol handling is a bit off, with more training they could be a bit quicker. when i left, they were still using weaver stance and marksmanship type shooting. hell, awesome job by all involved. it would be cool to stage an inter-service competition and inter-country one.:D

Same with the 101st when I left. Glad they are starting to pick up the isosceles now. Looks like great fun and good training!

Unless things have changed immensely in the past 2 years I wouldn't get your hopes up. :(

Cool. I am glad some folks took the intitiative to set that up for 'Joe.'

However, it still smacked of sport shooting - not combat shooting. One big no-no is to have your muzzle stick past your cover. NEVER stick your muzzle OUT a window! Other observations include dust covers down on the CCO, holsters with no retention, and my personal fav - running the course sans kit. Cool, fun, great MWR, but let's leave it at that.

Where did you get the impression that this was 'training'?

This was posted by me in the competition forum (https://www.m4carbine.net/forumdisplay.php?f=69) for that reason, competition isn't training.

Good point, M4. Moreover Armati, the negative attitude towards competition certainly does not belong in the "competition" section, and its not appropriate generally on M4carbine.net. Furthermore, the comment about "full kit" is out of line as well; of the current 4-service qualifications, none are conducted in "full kit." Please take the outdated anti-competition myths & attitude elsewhere.
