What are you asking about? I do not see anything wrong here.

I guess i should've said I'm looking at the AK BC or PWS md's and the extra barrel section past the threads in confusing me. I'll admit i am entirely a AK noob so i may be wrong.

So am i restricted to the factory brake?

I think he's asking about the roughly 1" or so of barrel beyond the threads. That's going to make it impossible to install most muzzle devices.

VIP3R, how long is the barrel? Can you cut it off down to the threads and still be at 16" or more? Because I think that's going to be your only option. If that's going to get you down below 16", you'll have to have it cut and pinned on permanently.

Wz.88 Tantal is not "standard AK". It is strongly modified AKM designed to use 5.45mmx39 ammo. It was independently developed in Poland and it is not AK-74 variant (but was made to accept AK-74 mags for logistics reasons within Warsaw Pact). Lot of things in Tantal are proprietary. There were reasons to design muzzle device that way, for better support when using barrel launched grenades (idee fixe of Polish high brass those times).

Proper barrel length for Tantal is 423mm (16,65").

You can learn more on Tantal here:

IIRC you can use a 2" barrel extension welded up to the muzzle device of your choice. Give CNC Warrior a call. They might be able to help.

The Tantal break is pretty effective, even compared to the BC. Did you not like the flash sig?

^^ ^ I agree, hard to beat the factory brake, unless your looking for flash control....great rifle/have fun.
