Thanks to G&R Tactical, eguns, and U.S. Gun Specialties (local dealer) for parts.

Ive never shot an AR before so I wasnt sure exactly what type of parts I wanted. I just read here and chose quality parts and pieced it together little by little. Itll be used for plinking and might get a Ko-Tonics 6.8 SPC upper for hunting. I read that people prefer this stock with a 16" middy so that's probably what ill save for.

Where did you get the Emod kit from? Does it also have the Vltor 5 position tube? Price? Looks very nice waiting on my lower to show up and start my build.

Looks nice so far. Do you plan on keeping the factory grips and trigger/hammer group?

Plan on getting the MIAD grip. I have no preference for different triggers so ill probably keep the stock one.

I swapped out both of my factory trigger groups for match triggers. I had one with a factory trigger and one with a 2-strage nm, the difference in trigger pull made me buy another match trigger for my 2nd lower. I now have the chip mccormick supermatch and the rra 2-stage. I really liked the performance upgrade.

Don't know what upper yet but I will probably have Grant put something together for me. The Noveske 16.1" upper looks nice but i'm not sure if spending that much is worth it for my uses. I'd really like a BCM middy though.

I also orderered a few more PMAG's, ranger plates, and MIAD grip today from eguns.

They dont make a mid-length though unless I get the MRP.

I'm progressing through my first build as well.. This afternoon I'll post pics, as I should have her done today :)

I went with a Larue Stealth, Noveske 16.1 recon, Larue 12" rail, BCM BCG, and a forged charging handle with a Badger Ord Gen 1 latch. I'm really hoping its a one ragged hole gun, as long as I do my part..
