So I took my brand new Mod1 out for a good function test and found an issue that I haven't noticed before in another rifle.

What I thought was a standard stovepipe actually was a bit different.
The casing not only stopped the bolt from closing but also became wedged on top of the new round being fed in. Pretty tight I may add. I had to forcibly pull it out. This happened twice in 5 mags.

I've had these before obviously but never where a dropping the mag and racking it didn't solve the malfunction.

This picture is the second one. I took the picture when I noticed it. I didn't change anything.

Being that the E3 bolt is different than your standard Milspec bolt I don't feel fully confident in diagnosing this.

It happened with two different magazines
I fully cleaned and lubed the rifle two days ago
28 rounds were slow fire for sighting in the rest were hammered pairs. This type of firing is when the malfunction occurred.

I almost didn't buy an SR15 because I saw malfunctions like this happening last year at a class but figured it was a fluke.

Any help would be appreciated.

Well... Since it's new, have you informed KAC of the issue?
