View Full Version : Romanian AK
SteyrAUG would this be an SAR-1? Im interested in that model you recomended but having a hard time finding anything just yet. Would this be anything close to it or a good deal either way?http://centerfiresystems.com/akagun-gp1975.aspx
No, the SAR series were built with Romanian barrels and manufactured in Romania. Those are built here from parts kits with US receivers with US barrels.
The price is way too steep for what it is; the Yugoslavian OPAPs are a much better deal.
Here's an optimistically priced example of what you are looking for.

The SAR series is no longer imported so you won't find them at any distributor. But quite a few were imported so they don't command Polytech prices.
And I would never consider a Yugo a better deal than a Romanian.
Too many incomparable parts and dimensional weirdness.

I agree.
