Just had the last piece arrive today so this post will serve as the "before" and later this week you will have the "after".

Since John's unfortunate passing I have been wanting to build my own Noveske rifle. I also wanted to take everything I have learned on this site over the last few years and put it into a gun. Here's my best shot.

Specs:
Noveske Gen 2 Lower
Vltor MUR 1A
Geissele Mk1 Mod1 13" Rail
All Cerakoted Tactical Gray by Shadow Ops Weaponry in Longmont, CO.

Nice! How much does Marvin charge for dimpling and Cerakote on the barrel?

It depends on the length, I think this was close to $300 all in for the work. He has a price list that I accidentally deleted.

Superb! I especially like the grey Cerakote and the rail/MUR combo.

Do you have any concern as to what dimpling does to a barrel's accuracy? 'Gotten a chance to weigh the barrel yet?

Nice list of parts. Also curious on the weight of the barrel. Looking forward to seeing it assembled and a range report.

I haven't had a chance to weight it quite yet but I will before it is assembled. I'm not really worried about a decrease in accuracy as KAC utilizes this technique on their precision rifles. This is not meant to be a very long range weapon for me regardless.

Apologies, I am trying to get it finished today. I got a ittle over zealous when my barrel came back.

My wife saw this pic, and said, "That looks familiar." Hurry up and turn that box of parts into a firearm.

Nice collection of parts! Should be a great rifle when done. Let us know how it shoots once assembled.

Off topic... I feel for you bro. You move out of NJ to "free" CO. Now, it's like NJ. Ughhhh!

Bro, I just went from six to midnight! I'm actually building a very similar build using an NSR rail and UBR stock. I actually went to drop it off today but couldn't decide if I wanted tactical grey or tungsten......it's clear to me now! Thanks

I dropped my rifle off to have my lower, upper, and NSR cerakoted in tungsten last week. I was also trying to decide between the tungsten and tactical grey. I ended up going with tungsten because I wanted the grey to be a little darker. Hopefully mine will be completed next week sometime.

From what I have come across, Tungsten looks a lot brighter than Sniper Grey. I am in the same boat as you are. It looks to me that Tactical Grey looks like a cross between the two. By that I mean a darker grey with the metalic look as apposed the bluish tint...

Which is exactly why I went with Tactical. I was between Sniper, Tungsten and Tactical. Seeing them in person made the difference. These pictures make the Tactical look a lot brighter than it is.

I messed up. What I meant was Tungsten looks a lot brighter than Tactical Grey, but Tactical Grey looks like a cross between Tungsten and Sniper Grey. You clearly caught my drift though... This is why I am also thinking Tactical Grey is the way to go.

Well it should be interesting to see how mine turns out. I don't think I would be disappointed with any of those colors.

Please feel free to PM with pictures of the finished product. I'm pretty sure Tactical grey is the way to go but I may change my mind.

That is a sweet, sweet rifle, sir. The tactical grey looks a lot lighter next to black than it did in the first pictures you posted. I like it a lot...maybe a little too much...this place is a bad influence :D

Thats a killer looking build! Congrats!

So, the dimpling on the barrel knocks of 7 oz? I'm curious how much the weight difference between a govt profile, m4 and a dimpled barrel are?

What's the total weight on that rifle, if you don't mind me asking.

Also for coating the MUR upper, did you have to disassemble and remove the FA?
