Yeah..something about this gun...had to have it. Just got it in this week..
Haven't shot match through it yet, will get out to 650yds this next week...
It groups the basic AE and Sellier+Belliot ammo just over MOA..pretty damn good for basic ammo
Suppressor enroute, waiting for form 3
Short-dot was to sight in, might be temp or perm, we'll see how it goes...

Hey brother,
Do you know what changes this new rifle has from the original SR-25K carbines?

Hey brother,
Do you know what changes this new rifle has from the original SR-25K carbines?
M4G,
Off the top of my head, URX instead of MRE, Lothar barrel I believe, dimpled barrel, Inconel Brake capable to mount the .308 NT4,gas block fitted to mount the SR-25BR reflex can, LMT Stock, Ambo lower controls...
The SR-25ks that were made started out as regular SR-25s and then were pulled and made in to "battle rifles"
This gun was a contract over run build that was available so this started its life as a battle rifle
It has been said by the customer that had them built that the old SR25Ks would not run right, and are the reason the HK417 exists today. I was wondering if they tweaked the operating system or developed any new procedures to up the reliability in the new 16" guns. I hope the new ones run well, I'd love to have one.
I really like the dimpling on the barrels...I had some time on a PDW, and I am sold on dimpling. Flutes don't do it for me but I'd pay good money to dimple the barrel on one of my guns. My next gun will be getting a URX, too.

Very good question, while the other SR-25k is referred to as the carbine, I believe it uses the KAC prop. midlength gas system, and so does this one. I am not sure if they adjusted gas port on this model or not..BCG tolerances,lockup,unsure....maybe III can step in and give little more insight..
Dimpling is the heat...i enjoy it alot.
SR-25's little brother write up (https://www.m4carbine.net/showthread.php?t=6898)
Damn bro, when you told me about this I though it was going to be an older model...
She's a beaut.
This configuration is still in use and liked over the 20" gun by some guys. The rifles are mostly 14.5" as opposed to 16". Battle rifle is not a good name for this gun . It is more of a carbine sniper rifle. The gun which has a chrome chamber and bore does still have a match chamber. The gun will not run when extra dirty but shoot under 1". There have been numerous improvements to the bolt group and buffer to make all SR-25's better than the guns before them. If accuracy was not the prime objective we would privide a different rifle than this type.
that is an amazing looking gun.
He's got this and he's waiting for another GD suppressor for it.
Unbelievable... :p
I love this gun...
As much as I love the Mk11 issued to me this week, I so desperately have wanted one of these ever since I saw the early select fire versions with the first URX models.
That is a nice ride you got there. Bet that Short Dot makes it a heavy mother though.
{going back for another look now!}

damn sweet rifle!
That is super sweet!
I do have to ask, how well does the Iconel brake work? There was much discussion over at TOS a while ago.
Ever since my wife bought me an SR15 I have been looking at the SR25 series. I keep finding myself on Kneseks website window shopping :( .
Damn lucky you are sir!!!

Thanks fellas. I'll get some more "hard' data (weight, grouping, ammo, etc) when I get to the range next. The inconel brake works, and works very well. Everyone who has shot it thus far felt the same as I, that it keeps the bore in line with the target alot more, and gives more of a recoil pulse straight back instead of up and back
With all the top vendors coming to the Shop I frequent on a daily basis (http://gungalleryjax.com/), especially Magpul being there this weekend, I am going to have to take a day off work to shoot/sight in/get some groups for this rifle..
Thats pretty ****ing american the more I think about it...gotta take a day off work..
why?
got a new rifle...:p
It is indeed a good looking rifle, I look forward to hearing how it runs for you.
Unfortunately, the ones we have been around have not proven particularly robust or reliable--hopefully KAC has improved things.

BUCK! Good to hear from you brother
I have full and utter confidence in your ability to de-atomize anything mechanical :)
Patagonia is good shit man...i sent them the Premier Gen 2XR reticle, they had it in their update 2 days later..
I need to get a damn PDA that will work with the mobile version..
My God, that is one sweet rifle.
Please keep us updated on how it runs. This is the only rifle modern .308 rifle that interests me other than the HK417.
Great build. Love the KAC.
I want to know where you got the Inconel break. They are like gold dust.

I totally agree that this, and the Hk417 are the ONLY 7.62 weapons I have interest in. (ok, so I still love the M1AM14 as well)
What is the length of the URX on that rifle bro? Is it 10 3/4"? (did I understand you correctly, that this rifle has a midlength gas system?)
SWEET 7.62 goodness.....
The SR-15 mid length gas tube was derived from the gas tube we have always used on the SR-25 carbine. The rail length is 10 3/4 not an industry standard for mid length but a preexisting standard for us.
I had the opportunity to use a midlength URX today, and they are perfect. Also, the fixed, rail mounted front site is the best one extant, though not available.
I'm impressed with the rifle. I only wish that I had one, since I have several thousand rounds of 168 BTHPs.
Have fun shooting it.
Derek,
SethB and I talked about your rifle today while we were at the range. We both want one!
Very nice!
Outstanding! I would love to get my hands on one.

Had a small time window to shoot this for a decent group this weekend, sub-moa @ 100yards with federal 168grain...found some rolling around in the back of my trunk

I'll be bringing it up for sure, and if I get these damn 7.62 pouches in before the class, i plan on running some drills with it

Is this the one your going to give me to T&E with option to buy?
I was really looking for something MK 11'ish:D
Nice rifle! I can't wait to hear how well it shoots. Post some of the targets for us so we can all be really envious.;)

Where do I go buy one? I will sell some stuff to get this.
Interesting how the upper does not have the SN on it. Is this only done for the MK11 or M110?
When I was going through the SR-25/Mk 11 Armorer Course back in '06 I got to man handle a PDW and I was impressed. Something about it just said "Quality". Just curious but do you need to heat up the URX near the receiver in order to remove it? I remember that being stated in the course and was wondering if it changed.
