At least it puts the handguard on a lower plane than some other designs; they are thinking in the right direction.

Another AK KeyMod option is the Krebs Custom UFM rail system. From my understanding, Marc is planning on making them for the Standard AK47/AKM Platform and the Vepr series. Currently it's available for the Saiga series.

I'm waiting to see his system he's making for the 550-series SIG rifle.

Ordered the new Krebs Keymod rail for my Definitive Arms AK yesterday. Shipped today. They (Definitive Arms) don't convert the forend, so this should work out fine.

Does the Krebs rail work on all Saigas? or just ones without a handguard retaining thing (the technical term :D ) installed?

Thanks for the replies! That Krebs rail looks sweet. Any other recommendations on other rail systems that extend more towards the front of the weapon? I'm finding myself wanting to grab just in front of the handguard, even while wearing my armor lol
