I was listening to Will Brink's radio interview with the ex-SEAL guy who is currently advising the Teams on physical fitness and nutrition, and he said they introduced "precovery" (first time I've heard that word) evolutions into the operational fitness regimen, to prevent overtraining injuries. He didn't go into much detail, but I believe Pilates was mentioned. I just started P90X, and the 4th and 8th weeks seem to be structured as active recovery periods.

How do you guys incorporate precovery or de-loading routines into your physical training? I train year-round, and am sure I could benefit from something similar. Stretch days? Yoga? Minimal cardio weeks?
