The worksheet it titled, “What is Government?” and then goes on to answer that question.

“Government is all of the agencies, departments, organizations, groups, individuals in a nation who make, carry out, enforce, and manage conflicts about rules and laws,” the worksheet says.

“Government is like a nation’s family. Families take care of children and make sure they are safe, healthy and educated, and free to enjoy life. Families encourage children to be independent hardworking and responsible,” it continues. “Families make and enforce rules and give appropriate punishments when rules are broken. Government does these things for its citizens, too.”

See how its done, how many different geographic locales around the nation have been targeted with this propaganda would you suppose?

But government is like your family. Assuming this is your family:

Just to be clear, I LOVE Family Guy. I just don't want the Griffins in the White House. Or the house next door. I like 'em just where they are.

Oh god... I saw this crap in the homework lesson of my girlfriends daughter's backpack one evening. This is being taught in the curriculum in grade school children. And Texas will not allow parents to know what is being taught in the schools.... And this is Texas! Our nation is being compromised by this new world government idealism.

My family won't eff me over. But my government will.

I think they got it wrong.

My oldest just started kindergarten last week. Illinois has adopted Common Core. Dad will be watching closely.

Students were reportedly encouraged to stand on the flag and write reflections about how they felt standing on it, reported Starnes. According to WLEX-TV, the flag was stepped on and said visitors “had to step on the flag in order to participate in the project.”

The teacher has since apologized.

He has since apologized? That's just swell...

Thing is all these people get caught apologize and to many folks say OK its all good !
(Not saying you I know the swell is sarcastic :) )

Yes you can learn from mistakes but again I say this is the first time they were caught !

Stepping on the flag is not a oops mistake ! Its calculated and testing the waters to what they can get away with !

We should say you lost your teaching certificate ! Go find a new job and expect this to be on all references !

Which draws me to the conclusion that the government views the people as mindless, drifting souls with no idea of how to even turn oxygen into carbon dioxide. I DO NOT WANT their freaking help and my own internal guidance system is fine thank you very much.

Unfortunately I can see why the government has this stance on many 'Americans'.

I don't understand. Many Democrats feel the same way about government. Not the big gov't liberal control-the-world nutcases but take a look at the lefties over at the ACLU or on any college campus. They are just as wary of big gov't as we are.

The real issue here is not evil big government democrats. Its the worthless low information voters who say "Hey, this politician wants to make it easier for me to pay tolls! I'm gonna vote for him!" and "Oh wow. I don't want to get hit by a red light runner. He's right. They should install more cameras." and "I'm not doing anything wrong. They should absolutely be allowed to look into my emails."

How do we combat that?

Answer: We don't.

Along the same lines, I was driving out to the "ranch" and was listening to the Bob Edwards Show on NPR. One of his guests was a black rap artist named Immortal Technique (no one I had ever heard of, but I don't listen to rap or hip-hop).

Anyway, the guy was pretty sharp. Certainly didn't sound like any some street punk. He was well-informed, articulate, and made his points in an exceptionally clear and organized fashion. And, given the preponderance of events surrounding the anniversary of MLK's speech in D.C., much of the discussion was about class inequality, civil rights, etc.

But what caught me off guard was this guy, a self-professed leftist revolutionary, started talking about the global banking cartels, the Federal Reserve, and the monetary policy of the United States government, and I swear it sounded like I was listening to Ron Paul.

When "marxist" revolutionaries and the so-called "extreme wing" of the conservative movement start finding themselves on the same page with respect to dismantling the prevailing power structure, the folks at the top better start watching their backs because the ground is shifting under their feet.

Which is why they are tightening the noose.

Speaking of Common Core, this was recently sent to me:

http://www.glennbeck.com/2013/09/23/nudge-to-shove-maryland-dad-arrested-for-asking-questions-about-common-core/

http://www.glennbeck.com/2013/09/23/glenn-time-to-get-out-of-the-herd-because-youre-being-led-to-the-slaughter/

I don't read his site of my own accord as he is somewhat hyperbolic, but the actual video of the Common Core Q&A event is worth checking out.
