There was a fascinating show a few years ago, I think it was on the Outdoor Channel? They were discussing that exact rifle, and the Lewis and Clark expedition.

Yeah..he misspoke in that video...he said Potomac river...I think he meant Columbia river...but yes, very interesting piece of hardware for the time.
