Seems it would make good sense to stock some parts if one owned several AR's. I personally like having a spare BCG and lower parts kit on hand myself. What do you have as back ups or extra parts? Besides another rifle that is!

Right now I have an extra bolt for each of my rifles. I keep a couple firing pins, firing pin retaining pins, an extractor or two, a couple cam pins and one complete BCG. Seems the more spare parts I keep around, the more I want to build another rifle.

the spare parts i currently posses are the factory parts that i took off my ar that i replaced. charging handle, a2 grip, oem rail covers, the FCG and takedown pins. all nicely stored in a clear plastic lure box. i do want to add as my repair parts: gas rings, firing pins.

Have you ever used the search button? Or searched "m4carbine.net + topic" on google? Not trying to be an ass but this, and your other topic have been covered numerous times and a simple search would yield threads just like yours where sufficient asnwers and opinions have been given.
Case in point... A more recent thread on this very topic:

Or this, on your other topic:

Well, with a forum as large as this I am sure every topic has been discussed a hundred times over. But, peoples opinions on things do tend to change over time. My apologies if asking a light hearted question upsets you. Not everyone need apply.

Completely missing the point. You're right, though! It is a very large forum, which, just reinforces my point. And, you're certainly not helping, starting new-old threads. Nobody's saying you can't start a new thread but how about trying to search first? It's incredibly simple! If you can't find an answer to your question, then, by all means, start your own thread.
To put it simply, "Read more, post less".

lowbar,

You're admonishment isn't singular.

I've recently enjoyed the same.

You'll get a frosty critique if you don't work on your due diligence search effort before starting a thread.

That's what I do now. (actually it's not that difficult...)

Gawd help us both if we complete our due diligence, not find what we're searching for and start a thread - only to determine the information was available after all, if only we'd used better search-foo...

As I don't want the ruler across me digits again, I suggest search man search first.

I debated closing this thread because it has been discussed numerous times.

Everyone is going to have a different perspective on what is needed. I have several parts containers because I use them frequently in my classes and side projects.

Only you know what your requirements are. The absolute minimum would probably be a spare bolt, one of every roll pin and a complete set of springs.

If you are someone that dicks around with everything frequently and takes stuff apart, you may need more stuff.

Just imagine how "fun" it would be if everyone just searched for old threads. Might as well just close the website and archive everything. Not trying to start a pissing match, just saying.

You appear to be missing the point. This topic has been discussed multiple times. There is no right or wrong answer here.

I have no idea what your requirements are, how much you shoot, financial status, etc...

I can tell you to go buy one spare bolt for every AR, one spare this and one spare that. You could then counter "that's too much money" or why do I need those(?), etc...
