Finally got a FLIR T-70 from TNVC after getting to try one out at the 2013 Shot Show in Vegas.

This 100% Mil-Spec unit was designed specifically to interface with either an ACOG or a Specter DR when used on a 5.56mm, 7.62mm, or .50 Browning platform.

It is a clip-on thermal sight that was designed to be used in front of the ACOG or Specter DR day scope, but also can be utilized as a stand alone thermal weapon scope as it contains internal digitized ballistic reticules for the NATO 5.56mm, 7.62mm, and .50 Browning M2.

Recoil is NOT a problem with this instrument and the T-70 was also designed to see over the PEQ-15 as well as my LDI DBAL-D2 IR, Green Vis, and IR Illum on the front top rail.

Image quality is plenty good for center of mass hits @ 500 meters and head shots @ 300 meters..... :D

Hogs and coyotes are not going to like this as they never will know what hit them...

It is apparent that the FLIR T-70 was specifically designed around the ACOG/Specter DR day optics as it is a perfect complementary fit to both of these.

I am especially impressed with how light this unit it, it is as light as my T-50 with the magnesium body and much more slimmer, compact, and lower sitting on the rail.

The LaRue mount provide a solid lock up on the rail.

The controls are easy to access and simple to operate as well (more on this later).

BTW, the velcro on top is to attach my mini-DVR for video recording, good place for it there on top out of the way....

It finally cooled down to 65 degrees out tonight after a heavy 7 inches of rain, that is 10 degrees cooler than it has been all summer.

The T-70 is a blast, it is so beautiful with the ACOG, the view is absolutely gorgeous and anything within 300 yards of me would be simple to take out.

Really liking the ACOG/T-70 combo, you can tell how excellently these two instruments were specifically designed for each other.

I appreciate the review. Just wanted to say that looks like a great setup. Let us know how it goes.

Got the Elcan Specter DR ready to rock and roll.

I just removed my ACOG TA02 LED and installed the Specter DR and co-witnessed it with the DBAL-D2 Visible Green Laser @ 200 yards.

Took two shots @ 200 yards to the lower left, adjusted, took two shots to the upper right, adjusted, took two shots over center and dropped elevation one notch.

Next target will be some hogs with the FLIR T-70 in front of the Specter DR!

Nailed two hogs rooting up the front yard tonight, both head shots with the FLIR T-70 Thermal and 4X ACOG TA02LED:

Also I am viewing this through a 4X-32mm ACOG using its reticule, so everything is greatly enlarged from what you see in the video.

The deer is located approx. 175 yards from the thermal and the pond in the backyard of our house is about 225 yards across to the planted slash pine tree canopy.

Those of you who hunt with me will recognize every detail....

Forgot to mention that the FLIR T-70 thermal video was made one hour after sundown with the ground and trees still quite warm, humidity is about 60% and ambient temp is 70 degreed F., it is much better out now that the temp has dropped to 60 F., should be some heavy dew later on.

Here is the mini DVR setup on the T-70:

Remember the resolution I am seeing in real time is twice that of the video plus it is magnified 4x....

Vermin beware! I have to content myself with my Aimpoint / ENVIS combo, which works well out to 100m.

I use some of FLIRs airborne products, they make some good stuff!

Went out tonight to try to take a couple of pics through the ACOG TA02 using the FLIR T-70 so you could see the sights.

It is a beautiful night out, temp about 50*F, full stars, no wind and low humidity.

After a long HOT HUMID summer, the FLIR worked beyond excellent, simply stunning thermal imagery.

So I start taking a couple of pics with my I-Phone through the ACOG:

http://www.phossil.com/thom/Night%20Vision/FLIR%20T70/T70%20Coyote2/RAIN%201X.jpg

Next thing I know a coyote shows up at 175 yards out while I have the I-Phone hooked up to the ACOG, so I took a short video of him before I disconnected the I-Phone and shot him:

Man, this FLIR T-70 is real real NICE!
