View Full Version : SLING SET UP FOR 590A1

I recently acquired a 590a1 20" fixed speed feed stock. I want a 2 point sling show pictures and suggestions. I have the VTAC II on my M4 and works great. Would like to utilize something similar. Having trouble with the upper sling attachment for 590a1.

What kind of trouble? 590A1's have front and rear sling swivels studs.

Can't go wrong with another VTAC on the 590A1. I recently updated my Benelli M4 with a Vicker's sling by Blue Force Gear. Similiar to the VTAC but you don't have the metal adjuster to bang against your receiver like you do on the VTAC.

I can use it as a two point or single point if I choose. Decently priced, pretty robust.

I like the GG&G mount for the front attachment, but I didn't care for the rear quick detach; it creates enough of a gap that your stock will no longer interface properly with the receiver (that small notch), I didn't want to create a situation in which the stock could rotate.

I went with the VTAC MK3 adapter, works just fine with my Hogue short stock; however for the role that my 590A1 fills most of the time, there is no sling attached.

I keep a couple spare proctor slings lying about. When I use a shotgun for work or hunting. I just put a sling on it and call it a day. I like the design and its very light/minimalist. I also use them for my lever guns.

How is it installed?? do you unscrew the forearm nut and slide a piece over the top of the mag tube? I would prefer that method? past experiences trying to use someone else's hardware to secure something added to a 12 gauge barrel usually ends up with stuff coming off.

I did not see a description on install on GGG.

Yes, it slips over the mag tube and secures under the cap. The rear fits between the stock and receiver.

I run a VCAS via a GG&G front sling adaptor and a BFG A2 buttstock adaptor on my 590A1 w/ a Hogue youth stock.
