Story with video. These will only get better.
I used to laugh at the old original "Terminator" movie with weaponized robots etc...I think I'm done laughing.

This has been featured on several shows (Discovery/Military) over the last several years. If this is what they reveal to us now just imagine what they do not . . . ;)
Ok, the first minute, the thing looks dumb as hell. Then they open it up a bit, and all I can think is how dramatically combat is going to change in twenty years... Arm that things next gen (on batteries), slap a Marine Corps emblem on the side, and suddenly the Air Force drones look like children's toys.
What's that thing running on? A smokey 2-stroke weed-eater engine?

Pretty sure it's just a cheap/efficient way to run an alternator for servos.
Weren't things like this supposed to be taking us to work and the grocery store like 20 years ago already?

What you mean you never had your very own personal home robot like the Omnibot 2000 bring you snacks and drinks as you watched your favorite movies on Betamax? :D

Pretty sweet no doubt. Plus what guy on the battlefield wouldn't want a large robot dog that sounds like a weed eater running full throttle 100% of the time.
Bad guys would just think someone was taking care of their lawn and not think about the death dealing weed wacker robot dog coming for them.
DARPA = evil
What? you mean they don't have anyone on the payroll whose sole function is to analyze prospective ethical risks that may lead to the self initiated downfall of modern society and possible the extinction of all mankind?
This is my shocked face. :rolleyes:
Maybe they do, idk. But I highly doubt it. lol

Sounds like an 85cc or 125cc dirt bike engine to me.
