View Full Version : Price difference
What's makes the Noveske Recon 16 so much more then the Bravo Company Recce 16? Are they pretty much the same and made the same way?
Which Noveske Recce specifically are you looking at? There are 4 under their 16" listing.
Just off hand, on the Noveske Light Recce Lo-Pro I see pricy things like:
-Gen 2 forged lower
-Voltor MUR upper
-Noveske barrel
-Black out flash suppressor
-Voltor imod stock
-Staked end plate
Price out each the individual parts for each rifle and the differences might start to become more apparent... Or you're just paying for a Noveske build of known high quality.
Can't go wrong with either...but I do have a Noveske upper so a little partial

The OP said Noveske Recon, which is the stainless steel barrel. The Noveske Light Recce would be the chrome lined hammer forged barrel.

The Noveske 16" Recon 5.56mm for $2585 and the BCM Recce 16. And I notice LMT is about the same price as the Noveske are. I just don't want to be paying for a name.

Can you link exactly what you're looking at?

...paying for a name....
Be careful, because generally, this is the comment of someone having had LGS influence in their decision making...
But if you limit your decision to the makers mentioned so far in your thread, you'll be happy.
But maybe it's just me... ;)

If a coin had thre sides I would say flip for it. All are quality and you should not be dissapointed with either.
And by the way, name does mean somthing somtimes.

The Noveske Recon has a lot of extra stuff that puts it a cut above the BCM in terms of features, not to mention their quality control process.
-Troy sights
-VLTOR MUR upper
-VLTOR IMOD stock
-ALG trigger
-Noveske GenII lower
-Noveske stainless barrel
-Blackout flash suppressor
-Noveske endplate
Noveske makes their own stainless barrels using a proprietary process and they have proven themselves. Not sure where BCM or LMT get their stainless barrels.
I'm sure the BCM and LMT are excellent rifles. Choosing the BCM could be a reasonable cost-saving move for you if you don't mind skimping of some of the options. You know...maybe you don't want the leather upholstery and the navigation system.

I agree. Most lgs pushing bushy and dpms always have this as part of their standard sales mantra....xyz is just as good, why do you think the (insert city) are purchasing them for their pd.

Gotcha. Stainless never even crossed my RADAR. I imagine the Noveske stainless barrel as mentioned above also lends nicely to the price.
The barrel alone retails for around 450.00. Compared to something like a hammer forged chrome lined we are talking about 160.00 difference.
The MUR upper is about 2x more than a standard M4 upper. Sights add about 189.00, etc.. It all adds up quickly.

I thought it was a known fact that noveske gets their barrel blanks from pac-nor. I have heard the bcm 410 is also from a pac-nor blank.
