Looking at the above product line catalog, one part reads "One of many but certainly the most significant development is the cold hammer-forged heavy barrel which gives the C8 a much longer service life than other AR systems". This HBAR is evidently standard on all their AR-type platforms.

Is this claim of longevity accurate or just sales hype?

Completely accurate, they are known for there barrels and make a better Colt than down South ever did for a long period of there history, not sure how much that holds true since the buy out!

KAC was in the habit of using Colt Canada barrels at one time; they are definitely known for producing excellent tubes.

I'm not sure whether KAC are still using Colt Canada barrels or not anymore, but KAC does have a couple of guys here IIRC so finding out shouldn't be too difficult.
