View Full Version : Need help finding a style of pouch
I'd like to run AR magazines mounted upside down on my vest. I do this because I have extremely small hands (men's XS), and find that gripping a full size AR mag like I would a pistol mag is all sorts of awkward. It wobbles around in my hand if I hold it that way. So I prefer holding the mag like a beer can. The problem is that with upright pouches, I can't grab the mags like that. I don't want to run belt mounted AR pouches either. So I'm looking for an AR mag pouch that has a flap, but also has enough of a friction fit that the mag won't drop out if mounted upside down when I go to retrieve it. Any ideas?
Doesn't have a flap, but fast mag upside down is option https://www.google.com/search?q=fast+magazine&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=1GpbUt7XKpOy9gTVpIGABw&ved=0CAcQ_AUoAQ&biw=1366&bih=673&dpr=1
+1 for FastMag. Great device. Good solid MOLLE mounting. Can be stacked, or a FastMag pistol mag can be mounted as a subload.
Second choice would be EMDOM IAP pouches. They also hold nice and tight without a flap or cord.
The only problem I have with pouches that have no flap or anything is that the mags will eventually slip out over time.
