I am thinking I need an IR weapon light. My visible weapon light is a surefire G2LED, I would like something similar. I see some cheap shit on Amazon and some filters that would cover an incandescent G2 (I have a spare), Straight IR LED lights from surefire are way expensive (almost as much as my night vision)

Is there a drop in IR LED?

I use SolarForce with great success. Just buy the parts you need.

No problem driving in complete dark with one:

I was able to mod an old G2 incandecent to IR LED with that link. Awesome and thanks for the help - saved me hundreds.

The next step is an IR laser. I've got a monocular and helmet and can half assed use the BAC to get hits.... but lining up both the AP and monocular is a bitch.

Cheapest option I see is around $200 with about $500 as the medium end.

Is their any other cheap option for an IR pointer/aiming laser on a long gun? Otherwise I'm gonna be saving for few months.

For a cheap test, you might be able to find a cheap incandescent G2 head and run a filter on it really well - otherwise the IR lamp/bezel assembly would work best.

I'm personally holding out for the SF 3V Vampire kits for scout lights.

If you have not seen our TNVC Torch Pro, we've been selling in great numbers since we introduced it almost a year ago.

Performance good out to 800 yards with a silky smooth rotating bezel from a 1 deg tight beam out to 10 deg flood for closer in stuff.

We also incorporated some good versatility with compatibility with all SF switches along with a head only option for SF G2/6P's.
