Gents I just got it from a very reliable source that Glock will be increasing the price of their magazines 40% very soon - if you want some mags you may want to jump now

be safe

Is it true that even glock mags are using chinese springs these days? An instructor told me that a lot of the current mag springs are coming from China and the quality is piss poor.

Thanks for the heads up Larry!

I stocked up a little while ago when Botach was selling them for $13.80 per mag so I'm pretty good for now ;)

The price has already gone up to dealers.

I find it funny that Glock mags are going up and M&P mags are coming down.

It makes perfect sense. I assume Glock makes all their mags in Austria. The dollar has fallen a lot against the euro lately, so Glock needs to make up the difference that they've lost.

I've been away from the board for a couple of weeks, but found out about this last Monday and ordered 35 mags for $13.99(the same price I've paid for 4 years) Tuesday they were $19.99 from the same source. I saved $210. I figured even if it was a bad rumor I can alway use mags.

Yeah...I was really annoyed..they were on sale last week for $13...I went back today to buy some ...$20.

Methinks someone knows sometink.

Glock mags have been about a inexpensive as they get for a long time (excepting the ban decade). With the price of everything going up, I can understand the price increase.

Even at the higher prices, they still cost a bit less than some other magazines. The best price I've found on M&P mags is $25...I just paid $30 each for 1911 mags (yeah, there are some that cost less).

I don't own a Sig due to high mag prices...:(

CDNN has a special going on till Mon on high cap mags. The G19 are $16.99 which is the cheapest I've seen this week. I too missed out on the $13.99 deals just a week or so ago.

Also spend over $99 and its free shipping.

I was going to buy some of the those $13.80 mags (std price for LEO) only to find out they jumped up to $20 (even for LEO). Wish I would have ordered at the old price.

Well, I just got a call from Chad @ CDNN and they are out of the new G19 magazines. However, he told me they had 400 LE-marked magazines in "like new" condition for $12.99 each. I told him to send me 15 magazines, so now there are only 385 left. :D

What does "like new" mean?

Thanks,

Previously "used", but in such good condition as you can not easily tell they were ever used. At $12.99/mag, it's a good deal. ;)

I'm reluctant to order those for fear that they may be "Gen 3" mags. I have a few Gen 3s in Glock 22 that have the polymer peeling back a little up by the feed lips. They are starting to act up.... i.e. cause minor malfage.

I still run them for range mags, but I don't want any more of them.

Pardon my ignorance..."Gen III" is which mag...the latest or the generation prior?

markm

The one prior. There not that bad. But I do have a few with the polymer coming away from the feedlips on the sides.

I have a LOT of the Gen III mags. I've never looked at them close enough to notice if they have the polymer peeling issue...but then, they haven't ever failed, either! ;)

CDNN is selling the Gen III (LE/Govt) magazines.

markm
05-08-08, 08:34
The Gen 3s I'm having problems with are pre ban era mags. I think one has a badge number engraved on it... i.e. cop trade in that got sold for good money back then. I have several other Gen 3s that are in much better shape.

I figure that may have been part of the reason for the re contour of that part of the mag in the gen 4 version.

I got my G21's yesterday, I don't know how to tell the gen but these have the notch in the front with a metal tab inside. When i put my mags in the cart it didn't allow an option to pick shipping.

DM-SC

That's the current version of the mags. That notch is for the ambi mag release.
