View Full Version : Magpul followers in 20rnd GI mags ??
I did a couple searches and am trying to see if anyone is running Magpul followers in current manufactured Colt/Okay/NHMTG 20's..... I am placing a Aim Surplus pmag order and need some followers for USGI 30 round mags and was wondering about them working in 20's
I appreciate your input.

They don't work in 20s without a ridiculous modification. A 20 round mag follower has to tilt to function. Thus a no tilt follower doesn't tend to work very well.
There is no reason what so ever to install them in a GI 20 round magazine.
I have Never had a 20rnd mag puke on me ..... I agree with you lumpy196 ... I was just admiring the pmag and saw how nice their followers are and just wondered. I will get a couple sets and put them in my assorted 30's ... Thanks guys.

Wise decision. They ARE an excellent upgrade in a GI 30rd magazine.

My understanding is that you can modify them to work in curved 20 round mags but not in straight body 20 rounders. I would recommend just buying some 20 round P-Mags if you want a Magpul follower in your 20 rounders. I just got 5 of them from Brownells and that are very nice. They only have black ones so far.
The curved 20 round mags are just chopped down 30's. They take Magpul followers just fine, no modification needed.

I tried installing Magpul Gen-2 followers in 20-round Brownells mags; no go.
I did order 2 black 20 and 20 black 30's last night from Aim Surplus.... I have had 2 O.D 30's and they run 100% and drop free from my MEGA lower/Stag upper..... I also have their curved trigger guard on it.... MAGPUL has a quality staff and provide exceptional product. Thanks everyone for your words.
