"LANSING, MI -- The Michigan Senate Judiciary Committee on Tuesday unanimously approved legislation that would lift the state's ban on short-barreled shotguns and rifles.

Sponsoring state Sen. Mike Green, R-Mayville, said that Senate Bill 610 would align Michigan with more than 40 other states that allow residents to own such guns if they meet federal requirements."

I wrote to my State Senator, Dave Hildenbrand, and he replied, within a few hours, that the bill would have his support.

I'm concerned about a veto from Snyder if it gets that far...

That would be great. I grew up in MI and still go back to visit and it would be nice to be able to travel with an SBR like I do when I travel to other places.

Wow! I didn't even know this was in the works. I shall be watching this with baited breath.

Fingers crossed for you guys! We just got SBR in Illinois last year. Now we have to work on suppressors.

Looks like this bill has passed the Senate 538 yeas to 36 nays on 11/14/2013 was referred to House Committee on Judiciary.

I may be wrong but I think it just needs to go before the House for a vote.

I wonder how long that will take? Any Ideas or guesstimates?
