I bought what was advertised as a Colt 6921 Upper from a guy off of gunbroker. He I sent him a Extended A2 flash hider and he pinned/welded it to the upper so it would be legal as I dont have a SBR lower yet.

I received it today and it looks good, albeit a bit weathered. He claimed it was unfired but he may have meant the barrel was new as the bore looks spotless.

Can someone confirm these markings are genuine Colt 6921?

Yes it appears to be a Colt. The C is the only pertinent marking aside from the M4 on the front of the upper.

Much appreciated.

I thought all Colt uppers had the "keyhole" stamp. It appears I was wrong.

The forge marking is nothing more than the foundry or forge. The C marking is how Colt uppers are marked.

Much appreciated.

Yours appears to have the Colt "VP"=Verified Proof in a triangle
just to the right of your dustcover,I have noticied newer rifles do not have this mark, for whatever reason, I purchased an identical upper
like yours from a dealer in NH,it was a police trade in supposedly and
it was in great shape, probably carried more then shot! Pete

The stamp on his upper is a forge marking, not a proof marking and it's not the same as the one on your .45.

That forge mark is an A and an H for Anchor Harvey one of the many companies that forge the lowers.

The small triangle to the right of the dust cover does not look like most forge markings. Looks more like a stamp.
The mark at that location on my factory Colt apears to be a comparable sized poorly stamped square with a C inside it.

I apologize as I missed that earlier on my phone.

In addition to the upper markings...
The barrel extension should have a "4" stamped on it, the barrel will have a white paint dot near the barrel nut.
Marking on the the barrel will say "C MP 5.56 NATO 1/7".
