Aim Point Patrol Rifle Optic

New to posting on the forum and have a question about a brand new optic that I purchased. It is a Aimpoint Patrol Rifle Optic. When I turn it on I do not see the red dot at all until I get to the 6 click. Alos when I do get to full power, I think it is the 10th click the red dot is bright but I am also gettting some red around the inside of the inner scope ring. Does any one know what could be going on with it. I am trying to decide if it warrents me sending it back or if it may be something as simple as a low battery issue with the battery that was shipped witht the optic. Any imput is appreciated, thanks guys.

Also please excuse my ignorance, I am new to this platform and still learning. Is it because the first 4 clicks or only visible with a NVD?

Yes. What you are describing is completely normal, including the halos when you have it set to max brightness.

The first few illumination settings are for night vision equipment.
