Optic Mount For A Carry Handle?

A friend of mine has a Colt with the bolt on carry handle. He is not allowed to remove the carry handle and screw on an Aimpoint or similar, no, that would be too easy. He is allowed to add something though, so he can put a mount ON the carry handle and mount an Aimpoint to that. What mount should he get?

Really he has 2 options. Either get a "Z" mount or a good free float rail and mount to the rail. Mounting on top of the carry handle is so 1990's and unless you shoot with a gas mask on the whole cheek weld thing is non existent.

I have a few carry handle mounts that places the optic forward of the handle. Let me know if he wants to try it out. No charge.

Best option; one of the smaller ACOG's. I have a TA33 on an A2 and it works great. Even the big TA11 works well although cheek weld was kinda high.
