I currently own a couple BCM and DD light weight barrels and have been looking to get something different.
I came across a 16" Centurion Light Weight barrel however it does not look like the light weight profile I'm accustomed to. Is there a particular reason why the Centurion is heavier than the BCM and DD Light Weights?
Also, how do the Centurion's compare to the BCM's and DD's?
The Centurion, Noveske and PSA are all about the same profile, and blanks made by FN. They have a .750 gas shoulder instead of the .625 that both the BCM and DD have. I've had both a BCM and Centurion, the BCM LW was lighter by a couple of ounces up front.
^not quite. They have the same .750 at the port and .680 towards the muzzle measurements but under the HG, CA has what they call "a stretched govt. profile" while Noveske has an S2W profile. Idk about psa.
OP, CA makes very good barrels. I'd put them in the same league as Noveske.
Noveske, BFH, CA, RA Mountain and PSA are all FN barrels.
^yes. Even Spikes offers FN barrels. Just to add... it's the respective spec-requirements/tolerances/QC-stringencies of these individual companies that matter more.
FN makes BCM's hammer forged barrels...?? That's news to me....
Edit: Can somebody cite this?
I've also never seen it confirmed that BCM's BFH are FN.
I don't see it mentioned here that FN makes BCM barrels.
Nevermind, I missed it
Noveske, BFH, CA, RA Mountain and PSA are all FN barrels.
Mentioned here.
