Does anyone have any information about the quality of weapons produced by PMA? I'm told this company was bought by RRA.

Haven't heard of PMA. Could you be talking about PWA, Pac-West Arms? RRA took over their machinery a loooooong time ago. I have a preban PWA Commando and it's been pretty good. Receivers made by LMT.

I stand corrected, the brand is PWA, in particular the Commando carbine.

As I mentioned, receivers are by LMT. Mine have forged receivers; I've heard that there's some cast receivers out there. I have a preban 0005XXX S/N that has, what I believe, a stainless steel Oly barrel. I also read that PWA sold mostly receivers & kits, and very few complete rifles. I've only had mine for about a month and it's been problem free; the previous owner also said that it's been good to him. The receivers on mine are still tight as Hannah Montana and I need to use a punch/hammer (or equivalents) to pop out the takedown and pivot pins.
Overall, it seems to be of very good quality throughout.
Serial numbers 35222 and lower are prebans. And here is some info to identify forged and cast receivers:

That's about all I found out while googling for info the past month.
