saw a facebook post by Mike Pannone a couple weeks ago about the ShotMAXX Timer Watch. It seems like an interesting product. It has an accelerometer mode to filter out shots not made by you by detecting recoil. So you could use this at a busy range and have the timer not record other people's shots. Has anyone tried this out? I was looking for a shot timer and this one looks like it has good capabilities over the standard offerings.

Sounds interesting but the review from Mr. Pannone has me eyeing it pretty closely. Hmmm.

Unless there is a flurry of negative reports on these in the next 60 days, I'm buying one in January for my training class gear. I'd like to "check my own math" on the line, without having to inconvenience the instructor or other people in the class.

Please let us know what you think after you run it a few times, I'd be quite interested in your observations.

pretty cool. Ive been looking at getting a timer for a while now and this really looks like a slick solution. I generally shoot on ranges with others present so being able to record shots without the timer picking up the other shots is a huge advantage.

just a small update, I received it today. Updating the firmware and charging it now

took it to a private range with a coworker. I didnt use the accelerometer since it was just us two. Timer worked great you can set it to instant, 3 sec, random countdowns. I just kept it on default settings and it ran without a hitch. Its nice to wear one on the wrist so it doesn't interfere with gear on your body. Very light watch I barely feel it on me. Highly recommend it if you are in the market for a shot timer, it doesnt cost that much more than the standard offerings but the accelerometer feature is a big deal if you are at a public range. Also nice that it charges by USB and not batteries that you have to keep replacing. I need to try it with my airsoft next, it does have an airsoft setting which is max sensitivity.

Nice to hear. Would be nice if you can test out the accelerometer feature and give an update. Maybe if you are wearing the watch ball up a fist and slap your fist simulating recoil?
