I've been wanting a progressive for a long time and my GF totally hooked me up for my birthday. If I reload more that means I have to shoot more, right?
Awesome press and GF. Is the steel plate the press is mounted to something you came up with?

Thanks! I made the plate at work. It is 24x18x.74" steel. I wanted something sturdy to mount the press on that would help damp vibration. The plate weighs about 85 pounds.
Very nice setup. Now on to the important stuff.
Your screen name just clicked. Are you a Carlos Lavado fan?

You mean the 1986 250cc Grand Prix world champion? Why of course! He won on a Yamaha, didn't he?..;)
I was fortunate enough to see Carlos race at Laguna Seca in 1988. I even have a Carlos Lavado sticker from the event.
I spent several months in Europe during the 1990 FIM race season chasing all of the GP races after I ETS'd from the Army. John Kocinski was the 250cc champion that year on a YZR250. Those were the days...
My friend and I won pit passes and had track access during qualifying. The photos below was taken in Brno, CZ. I forgot to buy film before we entered CZ and the only thing I could find was AGFA black and white...

I watched Kocinki's career closely. I first saw him race at Summit point in 1985. He was 15 years old and co-riding an imported GSX-R with Dave Aldana for Cycle-tech in the WERA National 8 hour. He was amazing even then. On to the factory Yamaha FZ750 in '86 and then to KR's TZ250s in 1987. At Mid-Ohio in '89 he won the 250 national with more than half a lap lead turning laps that would have put him in the top 5 in the Superbike race.
He's a successful Hollywood real estate agent now.
Those were great times.
Apologies, didn't mean to derail your thread...

No problem. Roadracing has been a big part of my life and I enjoy talking about it a great deal. With winter setting in though I'm glad to have the new progressive press so that I can enjoy some indoor activity!
Yuppy bench. Too clean. ;)
Nice bench and press.
I need to pick up my work bench sometime.
Way too clean. If I showed you my work bench you'd probably throw up a little.

I wish you guys would have seen the bench before I cleaned it off. It was hard to tell if the top was even made of wood. Chainsaw parts, race kart stuff, tools, reloading paraphernalia, etc. I spent the better part of an hour squaring away that disaster. I figured that while I was getting used to a progressive that I needed to remove some distractions.

Holy Crap! I'd hang that up and sling bullets at it. ;)
I've nearly ripped my single stage Big Boss 2 off the bench using that Larry Willis Collet die for belted Mag brass.
Polished the guts of the powder measure:

I have a Hornady L-N-L AP like yours but my seating die is in the place where your empty die location is. Am I missing something? Mine kicks the completed round into the tray where your seating die is.
I only load .45 ACP on this press and use my Rock Chucker for my rifle loads.
Are you using the CFE & Varget on your bench for .223/5/56?
Could not read the label on some of your other powders.

You can seat in either station. I am going to start seating in #4 and crimping in #5. I have the seat/crimp in #5 right now so I can get a good look at the powder charge before placing the bullet.
Very nice. I have the same press still in the box sitting in the spare room. It looks like that's where it's going to stay til after Christmas because I don't have time to get a bench together before then.
Awesome setup. Need to invest in one.

Don't let it sit too long...you get 500 free billets with the purchase!
The first hundred rounds off of the press.

The press ran great. The measure threw the HS-6 at 7.4 +0/-.2 and the primer system was flawless. I like it.

No worries there. I already have the 500 bullets. They're sitting on the box the press is in. I'm still accumulating other necessities along and along as well. I just won't be able to mess with building a bench and getting everything set up til after the holidays.

If you break up with your girlfriend and I ever happen to get divorced, can I have her number? Nice rig by the way.
