The fastener's cup edge is knurled for gripping strength so these screws resist loosening. Made by McMaster-Carr out of alloyed steel and then black-oxide coated. These are the perfect solution for upgrading the standard screws in AR15 low-profile gas blocks. The knurled-cup tip digs into barrels for a secure fit like no other, even without dimpling. Great upgrade for existing gas block installations that use smooth-tip or smooth-cup-tip screws. Just take out one screw at a time and replace with these screws. Pair with Loctite 272 (high temp red; 450 degree), Resbond 907TS Blue 2100 degree (on eBay), or Permatex #24026 (red, high temp, high strength; 450 degree) for a huge reliability upgrade over std smooth-face set screws that are so commonly used for gas blocks. This is the industry standard screw size and thread pattern for low profile gas blocks. These are also compatible with dimpled barrels (works perfectly with them).
