I made a thread about it a while back when I put it on layaway. Now here it is. I was mistaken about it being an Izhevsk-made kit. It's actually from the Kovrov arsenal, approximately 260 kilometers east of Moscow. The arrow logo is very similar to the Izhevsk "upward arrow," hence my confusion. The previous owner is more of a collector than a shooter and the condition of this piece is very telling of that. It's absolutely gorgeous.I loaded up a 100 round belt last night. Super easy process. Way easier than even loading a 75 round AK drum. The weather really sucks now so shooting it will have to wait a little bit. But I think I'll be braving the cold and snowy walk to the shooting range soon because I don't know how much longer I'll be able to wait. :dirol:

I noticed when I was taking pictures that the stock has about 2-3 millimeters of up and down play. If you set the rifle down on the bipod, the stock will flex a little bit. Is that normal? Is there a way to tighten it up?

The top cover is marked:

Oval with upward arrow inside of it

CB 346
Б (Russian B)
1953г

г is the Russian abbreviation for год which means year- made in 1953

"огонь" is Russian for "fire"

This is the type of belts I have. Both pairs are like this. You use a cartridge to attach the two 50 round segments.

And the place I bought it from threw these in with it. Said it's the best stuff to use. Are they right? I've always used Break Free CLP before.

Sweet rifle.

As to lube, I'd use mobile one, but I'd probably use free stuff, too.

Extra sweet... update when you get to shoot it... one of my all time favorites.

How much did you pay for that?

TW-25B is good stuff. Shake and knead it before you use it as it will separate after long periods of time sitting in the tube. I have used it on various MGs and rifles. As advertised it does a good job of resisting burn-off compared to CLP. As a result, it gets dirty but your gun doesn't get nearly as dirty. This allows you to wipe the gun clean quickly. It's easy to put a thin coating where you want a little, and apply it heavily to places you need a lot. It doesn't run nearly as badly, even in high heat.

Cool! How is the trigger?

I used to have a Vector RPD. Just lubed it with grease like I do everything else and it worked great. The only thing to avoid is using very light oil for lube and using too little lube. Of course do not lube the firing pin and chamber etc.

I'm very satisfied with the trigger. Some people claim they're spongy and way too long of a pull, but I either got lucky or they exaggerate. I feel very little difference between it and an original military AK trigger. So far I've shot Klimovsk, TulAmmo, and Brown Bear through it for a total of 300 rounds (100 each), no hiccups. The sights are pretty much right on too, although I may tweak them a little bit this spring when the weather is nicer. Disassembly for cleaning is a lot easier than I expected. Really like this piece.
