Defects in metal or alloy coil by rolls. Not sure how it relates with firearms, though.
The roll marks are the embosed/stamped markings on the firearm, such as make, model, serial number, logo, caliber markings, safe/fire, etc...

No, I've seen it here and on another forum. "Roll marks" somewhere on a rifle. Maybe the lower.

Ah...as I said, never heard the markings on a rifle referred to as "roll marks". Learn something everyday.

It looks super clean until you actually use the gun. Well i mean "USE" the gun. I hunt out in the desert most often and I noticed after the 2nd or 3rd trip the white paint is starting to get a little brown. Definately looks dirty now, not so clean and tight looking anymore...
I'm gonna go for the complete mono-colored blackout next
At FN the "Roll Marks" on the M-16 lower are done on the CNC when it is machined.
Most of the barrels and pistol stuff is done with a laser and on the M240 for example we use a press to roll mark the weapon name & FN's info but the S/N is etched in with a laser.
