A couple of months ago, I bought a Noveske N4 basic carbine upper and sent it to Marvin Pitts in Florida. Marvin works for KAC and has his own business as well where he installs standard and modified KAC parts. Having seen his work, I wanted a rifle length KAC URX II rail installed on the Noveske as well as the KAC gas block/sight combo. He also pinned and welded my SF556K flash hider for my 556k can.

I just got it back a few days ago and I am very impressed. His cutting of the rail is perfect; even and well finished. You gain some rail space on the 3 and 9 o'clock sides as with a KAC MRE (no longer made, get 'em while you can")

The whole carbine is nicely balanced and light. I have to weigh it but the way you see it is the way I'm keeping it.

The lower is a PWA with a Magpul UBR, triggerguard and old MIAD with grip tape. Trigger is the awesome Geiselle SSA.

The x300 light has the rail grabber mount installed to make it sit as close to the rail as possible. I can reach it easily from the LT FUG. An Aimpoint T-1 in a LT mount stays with the keep it light theme. I'll do a Stud Board post when I get a chance to get to the range.

Awesome setup. URX rails totally kick ass. I just ordered another.
What's the deal with that "PWA" lower from "Milan, IL"???

Does PWA have any connection with LMT? LMT is also located in Milan, IL. ???

We don't have a "Stud Board" here at M4C - otherwise it looks very nice!

Paul,

I believe they were made for PWA by LMT. I use PWA lowers because those below a certain serial number are legal to own as they are considered "pre-ban" under our existing AWB. They are excellent lowers.

That is the KAC front sight/gas block combo. Once nearly unobtainable, they are available from Mr. Pitts installed and from several other places. IIRC, I thought Grant was going to do some. Excellent piece of kit, my alltime favorite front sight.

I like the look of those KAC front sights too, but don't they use setscrews from the factory?
If so, they really should be PINNED, preferably with taper pins, but straight pins would do too.

I have another GB that is set screw. The one on this rifle is pinned.
