I got my SCAR back just days before a three day Carbine class. After the three day carbine class in a rock pit I decided to post the pictures of the all the wear points on the SCAR I had dipped by Joint Force Enterprises. It rained a good part of the class and we did a lot of prone and some moving. The entire class I had either a Cobra buckle or a riggers belt which I expected a lot of wear from. But I was pleasantly surprised by how minor it was. I used only Lancer or USGI mags and the magwell is admittedly very chewed up. I personally am happy with how well it has held up so far. Sorry if the pictures aren't the greatest I was having trouble getting the lighting in my house at night. Fell free to ask any questions!

That's beautiful. It looks like they did an excellent job and it's holding up well. I wonder about the guy next to you though. Poor fella, judging by the looks of his set-up he wasn't all that squared away. At least he is in a class though. Gotta start somewhere....

Seeing your pictures makes me miss my 16 something awful.

That's not bad at all. I expect things to wear but for the cost of hydro dipping vs DITY it's got to last a bit long and it appears that it will.

Thanks for the feedback and photos, very helpful.

To me the biggest impediment to doing this is shipping, although with a rifle it can go USPS.

I love the hydro dip options, but for my money Krylon is just as well, and far easier to fix. That said I love your SCAR and the camo too. very nice

yea, i love my 16 if I had to choose a single one of my rifles that would be the one. What possessed you to sell it?

Yea, 400 is a lot but value is in the eye of the beholder I guess. I do a lot of dura-coat myself and love it, some of the toughest DIY stuff out there. But with that said my dura-coat is definitely showing some wear on the stock. I haven't done any of my lowers or uppers so cant say how those wear from the sharp edges of steel and aluminum mags.

You have certainly picked one of the nicest patterns for your dip. Thanks for the pics, I may have to do this. What was turnaround time? Also, did your scar start out black or fde?

Turn around was about a month. But the rifle was originally black. But, if you are asking because how the dip looks on top of a specific color rifle they spray a base layer first so you can have just about any color you want as your base.
