I am looking for a little help here:
Using a 16" 5.56 with the heavy .223 and 5.56 OTM loads and a PST 2.5-10x32 MIL, past what range would this setup benefit from a 20 moa mount? Is it worth it?
Thanks.

I don't have ballistic particulars but I have a working theory that 20M mounts are better paired with larger scopes more suitable for shooting at the ranges that a declined mount is needed...

I want to be able to go out to 800yds maybe 1000 just for kicks. I don't know if the scope has enough adjustment to do it zeroed at 100yds.

Based on published specs....let's try to break it down like this:

Elevation/Windage Adj (PST 2.5-10x32): 86 MOA / 86 MOA

Now compare that with some of my own personal dope charts based on true velocity using a 16" 5.56 and heavy OTM loads.

I wouldn't use a 20MOA riser for your particular setup/caliber.

Trident, you are the man! Thank You. It is your shooting that stirs something deep in my soul I would like to do myself.
Only 47 moa to come up for 1000yd that is only half the range of adjustment, surely the 100yrd zero will not use that much from mechanical center.
Do you have charts for 7.62 aswell?
Thanks again:)

Your too kind brother :)

Here are a few charts for 7.62/.308 in a Recce 16" config. :

With a normal ADM, Bobro, Larue type mount, that combo will be everything needed to exploit the full potential of the 5.56/.308 precision gas gun's performance envelope.
