I just pulled around 200 rounds with a kinetic puller, which to say the least got very old. I want to get a collet die style puller and was just curious what you all recommend. Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Oh yes, kinetic is for the birds.
There is not a lot to a bullet puller. I'm using an RCBS and it works well.

Another stupid question, will they work in a progressive style press? Or do I need to use a single stage?

They will work in a progressive. You will just need to empty the stations if it auto advances. If you have a 550 you could just use one station and remove the case after the bullet is pulled.

Any collet type puller should do the job. I use the rcbs, but the Hornady or any other should work just as well.

I have the RCBS also,,bought it used, paid about $15 bucks for it with 2 collets !! :D Just buy the calibers ya need and get pulling !! I think Hornady makes one similar also !!

RCBS bullet puller works well for me too, simple to set-up and simple to use.

I recently got the Hornady Lever style puller and really like it. Once you get used to it you can pull them real fast with no marks.

Another vote for the Hornady unit here, I had to pull 350ish rounds earlier this year. The Hornady unit let me do it all in sitting

Another vote for the Hornady puller. I run it in the Rockchucker. Works great and does not mar the bullets.

I'm using the Hornady too. It stays in the toolhead with my sizing die for my RL550b.

sharp side cutters are my tool

I pass the loaded round through the 7/8 threads of my single stage press then grab the bullet just at the case mouth then retract the press handle....out

Then you can't reuse the bullets with this method. The Collet pullers cause minimal damage.

The hornady is the fastest bullet puller I've tried, adjust properly and then the lever is so fast and easy to use.

You sure can. You will notice the marks but your rifle won't care

Ok. I guess as long as they are sharp enough it won't harm them any more than some collets will. Just don't squeeze too hard ;)

I like these. Quick, easy, minimal damage: http://www.sinclairintl.com/reloading-equipment/case-preparation/bullet-pullers/davidson-bullet-puller-25-6-5-7mm-30-cal-sku749003230-34463-66937.aspx?gdftrk=gdfV21820_a_7c291_a_7c1020_a_7c749003230_d_749003244_d_5593

I only use the kinetic puller as it reminds me to make damn sure I'm happy with my load before loading a quantity.

I forget which one I use. Forster maybe? I have a dedicated single stage on the end of the bench for pulling ammo to do "Mexican Match". Any XM193 I get that I don't sell gets pulled down and made into good ammo.
