Well im stuck inside after getting a ton of snow yesterday and subzero temps today. I just built my first AR in 2013, and im already planning my second build. I really like the offerings from Rainier Arms but lack the funds to buy one if their rifles or even get all of their components. I am looking to build a rifle geared more towards small groups at long range, thinking i want a 20" barrel, probably stainless but open minded. I have already purchased a Rainier Arms BCG as they had a good deal on them. Also picked up a Spikes lower for decent price yesterday.
Anyway, im looking for input on quality barrels of the target/varmint variety. I have looked at RRA, WOA, Criterion and maybe another. I am basically looking for the best barrel i can get for around $300 or less. Am i better off getting something with an 11 deg target crown only, or can you have a target crown and a flash hider? Thanks for any insight and advice you guys can offer.
