I ordered a Mossy Midnight Mount on Wednesday (Model: MT2400FSB). Goal is to use it to attach my Streamlight TLR1 to the FSB. Should receive it today or tomorrow.

Question. IF I want to connect this via a tape switch - will it work…or is it designed to be wireless only? Goal would be to outfit my TLR-1s with a remote door switch connected then to a remote tape switch.

I currently run a MAGPUL scout mount on my Colt 6920 (with MOE hand guards).

Thank you in advance!

one of the attractions of a TLR1 for right handed shooters is the paddle works by pressing down - either with the left thumb mounted on a pistol, or upside down mounted on a carbine. never used the Mossie mount but if there is room a remote would keep your hand away from the FSB which can get hot. I don't know about the reliability of the tape switch though...

yes, because of how the TLR-1 has an offset tape switch, it will ho around the FSB and work fine.
HOWEVER, this is only with the 1913 picatinny version of the Mossie mount. with the standard, "universal" version, the TLR1 will be too close to the mounting bracket and there will be no room for the pressure switch backplate.

There is a picture of that very setup here:

I received all the parts in the mail and installed them on my Colt LE6920. Works perfectly.

Parts:

1. Started with a Streamlight TLR-1HL light (http://www.streamlight.com/en-gb/product/product.html?pid=276) and installed a Streamlight remote door switch (http://www.midwayusa.com/product/362287/streamlight-tlr-1-and-2-long-gun-remote-door-switch).

2. I chose the Magpul Illumination Kit (http://store.magpul.com/product/MAG402/46) and used the old Surefire pressure switch pad from the kit. I connected a Streamlight STL69132 tape switch (http://www.primaryarms.com/Streamlight-TLR-Remote-Tape-Switch-p/stl69132.htm) to the kit and then connected it to the back of the light. Had to use one zip tie to manage the excess wire.

Once I determined that it would fit and work on the gun - I attached it all (with the Mossie Midnight Mount (http://battlecomp.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=13&products_id=41&zenid=eog2onhhbfmv7p5i5p11mpr1e0)).

Cost (if you started from scratch…I had most of the parts around the house) -- almost $300.
TLR-1HL-- $150
Mount -- $75
TLR-1 Remote Door -- $35
Tape Switch -- $25
Illumination Kit -- $10

Here are photos with the rifle equipped with the light. I am a south-paw…in case that confuses some of you. I like it, really feels good on my rifle…intuitive.

I would not go with a remote on a carbine. that's just me but I don't feel it gives the support hand enough room...

You guys were right.

Took the rifle to the range today and within 3 shots…the damn light fell off. Haha. Yeah, never thought to ensure the light was attached to the "rail" portion of the mount. Soooo, it simply slide off.

I can't find anything on their website which says this can be "wired". IN FACT, it explicitly says "wireless" in the product description.

Sooo, took off the remote tail cap and re-attached the original cap. Removed cables and now my set-up works.

Hope this helps some of you thinking about this set-up. Much cheaper this way as well. Just buy the mount.
