Mask need a rim or flange all around the eye holes for when it rains or a rotten grapefruit hits the schnozz protector area. 1/4" ought to do it.

I've seen these pics circulating on the web for years as well. I don't know if I believe it - The close up of the eyes of that one soldier shows that he's clearly of European descent.

Hey, the Taiwanese military ain't no joke. Remember that their very existence is threatened by mainland China. All males above a certain age are required to serve just like Israel. On a trip to Taiwan I was privvy to watching a bit of Taiwanese Army training in mountainous jungle terrain. Those dudes don't mess around.
