This looks like a very interesting concept...can anyone confirm if one actually exists? I know it is DPMS...but it looks very interesting.

They definitely exist! Pretty cool at first glance. AR308s that use SR25 mags but allow the use of AR15 rails, receiver extensions, FCGs. They use a proprietary barrel extension that mates to steel feed lips built into the lower. BCG is all new, bolt carrier is same diameter as AR15 unit but much longer. Cheapest AP4 version is under $1100 and weighs about 7.5 lbs.

There is a member here (constructor) that has been working on this exact same thing for years. I think it's an awesome idea.

A. It'a still a DPMS, not sure why anyone would get excited.

B. In no way shape or form SHOULD the receiver extension on a 762 be the same as on a 556 gun. It just shouldn't. The DPMS stubby buffer should be murdered in it's sleep! Friends wouldn't let friends have shitty running guns. The AR-10 RE should be .75" or so longer than an AR-15 RE. The buffer should be longer, the weights should be different, etc etc. Don't encourage a cheap workaround.
