I've come to dislike the M620U set-up on my URX 3.1. The click-on tailcap sits too far behind the 9:00 rail section for me.

I'm looking for a set-up that allows the tailcap to not exceed the length of the rail section. I'm thinking the M300 may be the only viable option.

Looking for pictures and/or suggestions. Thanks in advance.

Why don't you use a pressure pad. Not the one that comes with but the other one.i forget what it's called. If your just trying to push it more foward. Look at the hsp mil 620 mounts.

have you looked at any of the thorntail mounts?

There is not an HSP mount for the M620 that puts the light forward.

I have considered the SR07 switch, but I am not sure that I want to go that route; I like the click-on tailcap.

Yeah but you might be able to move it foward one more notch if the mount is smaller.

What about a Magpul Rail Light Mount? It puts the light at 45 degrees and also pushes it forward.

Personally, I like the mini Scout and think it'll work better for your application. You could also consider installing the URX III/3.1 pictatinny rail attachment piece on the bottom side of the rail and run a foregrip a little further back to better accommodate the manipulation of the push button switch. I prefer the SRx pressure switch solution myself.

Sr switch seems to be the best solution plus then you can run your light lefty with it. I don't think the magpul mount works with your light. I run the full size 500lumen scout with an sr switch and it's the nuts.

I use a Thorntail mount and just recently started using a pressure switch.

I use a Danger close mount and a pressure switch on my URX 3.1.

I just run mine at 12:00 on the stock mount - it seems odd to most, but it's eminently flexible and ambi, not to mention works very well with 45' offsets.

Same here. The SR series of tape switches are the way to go. If you need constant on you have it, but the momentary is nice at the 12. You just grab the rail and it comes on. I'm not a huge fan of the clicky because during shooting the momentary will flutter. If you have it clicked on but have a malf or a reload and forget to turn the button off then you're just sending a beacon of light to your position. This can be solved with training, but it's a lot easier to just let go of the rail and perform IA or the reload. The Thorntail mounts aren't as strong compared to the DCC or the stock mount. Just things to consider. Also, with the tape at 12 it allows for ambi activation of the light. I can get to it from either hand, and it's a simple hand switch. With the clicky it's doable, but a lot tougher to switch.

Thank you for the input and suggestions, gentlemen.

I think I'm going to try the SR07 switch at 12:00, and take it from there.

I rock a Gear Sector mount. It's great. I run it with a SR07 3-4" switch but I've been debating about running it with a push button tailcap

Bad ass rifle BTW. I also ran the gear sector when my scout was on my sr, loved it.

Scooter.... Have you looked at Impact Weapon Components. They offer a few options to mount the M620. They also fit the Millennium lights. I'm not sure if their Mount-N-Slot would work w/ the URX 3.1 holes. The mount pictured below might not mount it forward enough for your liking but the Mount-N-Slot definitely pushes the entire light forward.

Scooter, I opted for the SR-05 switch for the mini Scout. Just didn't want all that excess cable hanging around. I used zip ties to secure the extra. Changed some things around for these photos as this rifle didn't originally have a light set-up, but this would be my preferred method on the URX 3.1:
