Hey guys, new to the forum. Just finished my first custom AR build, and I opted for the carbine length upper. I've got a flat top 16" upper with a quad rail forearm and quad rail gas block, and I was wondering if I could put a mid-length rail system on my carbine upper. I don't know much about the gas block portion of the rifle.
You can put anything longer as long as there is enough clearance for your gas block. If you have a quadrail gas block, it might be too large to put a longer quadrail over it, but there might be a few options. Post up pics/specs of your rifle and we can tell you.
Also usually a low profile gas block is better if you want to have longer FF rails.
Welcome!
Yes, this is a very common configuration.
You'll need a low profile gas block to fit under a longer rail.
