I hope this has not been covered before, but I'm new to the Aimpoint Comp ML3 4MOA.
I noticed that even after installing a brand new battery, when turning on the sight the red dot does not appear until the forth click. I emailed Aimpoint and in the return email was advised that, "The first 4 settings on your Aimpoint are for use for extremely low light to no light situations. If you are in an indoor lighting, they will not be visible."
OK, so I tried the sight in total darkness again, and still I'm not seeing the dot until the forth click...
My question is, is this a normal condition or am I getting blown off?
Thanks in advance...

ML3 does not have NVG settings but it does have very low lows. Did you try with your eyes totally dark adapted? My ML2/3 work the same with the first 3 settings basically not visible. However, they still make my NVG bloom a bit... As long as your high is high enough you have no real problem :-)

NV settings AFAIK.

You're thinking of the M3. NVG settings and can be immersed to 150'.

ML3, no NVG, immersible to 15'.

My ML3 presented the same dot intensities that Dennis describes. I kept it on 5 most of the time, ramped it up as needed. Most often, 7.
