View Full Version : "M4A4" carbine?
The below FMS notice (for Libya) mentions the M4A4 carbine. Is this some commercial variant or a military modification?:

I think Windham makes what they call an M4A4. Bushmaster makes a M4A2 and M4A3, and Windham spun off of them if I recall correctly.
Could also be a typo, referring to a M4 with a flat top and rail as an A4 like the M16A4.

Original BM owner sold out to freedom group. Freedom group screwed over his old employees. He started Windham with hand picked old employees. I bought a Windham 'm4' for this reason. Not 100% mil-spec but he earned my respect.

It's still Bushmaster quality though, and that's the kicker, between the legs.

I can agree with that. I bought one to support the guy that took care of his employees. Not to many of those guys left around these days.
I wonder why we insist on buying these folks ARs. As seen in neighboring countries, the M16 platform does not seem to fit well with the lifestyle, motivation, or training level of the people.

So we can send THEM the mags & ammo with it, that should be on OUR gunshops' shelves...

Hopefully an M4A4 is an M4A1 without a barrel, or a receiver, or a FCG...
And we have learned nothing about feeding the hand that bites us
Some contractor(s) is set to make a buch of money.

The m4a4 has a .30 caliber clip magazine that it shoots in half a second.

Plausible deniability. You can't say the cia or sf was there if locals run around leaving the same caliber casings. IMO.
Edit to add - IMO

My point exactly.
If we gave them AKs, it would cost THEM exactly the same as M4s. Talking to some of my buddies that are working over there, the place is pretty well stocked anyway... unless it's been looted.

Yep, the global proxy war with Russia and China for pipelines and ports.

In such a sale, is the contractor required to provide the carbines, or is that a Government-to-Government sale?
