Carbon Fiber AR15

What is everyone's opinion or experience with AR15 carbon fiber lowers. I have a chance to purchase one at a reasonable price; it would only be used as a target gun.

Since nobody is revising the actual design to accommodate what carbon mesh/epoxy does and doesn't do well, avoid. They have the potential to be much better, but there are about 4 points that really don't suit any of the current designs - with some significant design revisions, and probably a lot of aluminum or steel insert spots, they should be better, but if you're seeing a carbon fibre one that doesn't cost more than a forged 7000 series aluminum unit, it's not because it's better.

For a dedicated .22 plinker sure why not, but even then why not just buy a 15/22 instead and save the money. For everything asides from .22 not worth a crap no matter what the company says or claims.

He means polymer. Almost all polymer lowers are carbon or carbon fiber reinforced. Hense Bushmaster Carbon 15, and the other junk polymer guns. The Bushy isn't 100% CF either, its CF reinforced polymer.

You used your head and checked before buying the carbon AR. Lots of folks buy first then come here to ask about the quality of their new purchase and leave butt hurt.
