What's out there in regards to micro chest rigs.

I'm gonna give the velocity systems lwpc a shot. There's no molly on the front. Just velcro and buckles to connect a chest rig.

I have a Haley strategic d3. I'm looking for something smaller. Maybe just 3 AR mags with a velcro backing and proper buckles.

Thanks.

Derek

I really like my mini mav from TT, but it does not have Velcro on back. Maybe stroll over to SKD and check out PIG Brig cr (no exp with Brig), both are priced right. Have been thinking about Brig myself because just got new carrier with Velcro on front and attach points. Still wouldn't give up my mini mav for nu-tin tho.:dirol:

Original SOE Gear PALS Micro Rig.

You can order them in several "sizes", i.e. # of PALS columns, depending on your preferences.

I have one and it is very nice.

Alternatively, there is the BFG RACKminus.

Thanks for the input.

The soe micro caught my eye a few days back. Looks perfect... But it looks like it uses a bigger size buckle than ordinary...

Hmm

If that's the case, maybe a split bar mount through the webbing and a dremel to remove the old buckles.
In the words of Jeff Goldblum on Jurassic Park, "Nature finds a way." Not that it helps you at all really. ;)

True. That's always an option.

I may be leaving towards the brigandine.

The Haley Strategic D3 chest rig looks pretty well-thought out and a good piece of kit.

You can do whatever you like. I just left a suggestion so that you don't just discount one rig or another that may work because of something as easily addressed as buckle size.
That being said, the PIG Brig chest rig looks fine for your purposes.

This is pretty micro. It will be my next rig for work.

what about the AO small chest rig from HSGI? I have it to feed my battle belt at the range, and I really dig it. You can get the combo, or stock it with pouches that you determine the need for (what I did).

I second this, it's what I am currently running as well. Very small, light weight, and it has an H harness which I prefer over the typical cross over.

+1 for the SOE Micro Rig. Absolutely bombproof.

That said, I'm running a UCW Gen IV on my Mayflower APC. Micro Rig is my bump in the night rig though.

Does anyone make a setup similar to the Pig Brig CR that has MOLLE on the front of the mag carriers rather than Velcro. I'd like a chest rig that only carries 3 AR mags, but with the option to add/remove pistol mag carriers or other small pouches as I see fit. What I like about the Pig Brig CR is that the mag carriers mount directly to the harness rather than a separate MOLLE panel that is attached to the harness.
