Anyone know what red dot sights I should be looking at? The ones I see are about $400. I was hoping for less.

1. What is your intent with the rifle?

2. Sight in your irons and spend some money shooting/familiarizing yourself with the the rifle before dropping big money on an optic. It may influence your decision.

Just range use

If I was in your position, I would buy a Millett DMS-1 1-4. For pure range work, at around $200ish it is a pretty good deal.

Otherwise an Aimpoint C3 is the best deal going on a quality red dot.

I don't care for Eo-Tech's, but if you like them, you should be able to score one for around $300 that will serve you well for shooting at the range.

Don't be concerned or pay for NV capability or it being able to withstand the sinking of the Titanic. It is of little to no use other than cool factor if you can't use it.

For range use, a SPOT or Burris XTS-135. $200-225, includes mount (not a LaRue, but a decent ring).

Aimpoint ML2 - I think you can have fun with it.

Congratulations on the purchase. Looks like it'll compliment your collection well.

If it's just a plinker/range gun and you're not going to put it, (or yourself), through the paces, then don't worry too much about optics. One of the recreational shooters at the range I belong to has a Leapers 4x that looks okay and he was smacking the X-ring with it all day long....I think he paid about $50.00 or so for it and I have to say it appeared to be worth more than that...Looked well made and the results were more impressive than I thought. He said he's had it for a couple of years, put 2k or so through his Bushmaster with it and it has given him zero trouble - may be just the ticket.

Congrats, I have the same one. Mine has an A2 flash hider though. I put a quad rail on mine, but don't have anything but a vertical grip on it. Didn't think I would like it but I do. I have an ARMS 40 sight on the rear.

Just finished my first class with it and it did great. Shot several phases with Wolf and then switched to the cheap UMC ammo with no problems. I did run a chamber brush through the chamber to scrub any poly sticky stuff out to avoid potential problems. Not even a hicup.

I was searching awhile for a good optic.. came down to eotech and aimpoint(big surprise:rolleyes: ) and a guy i knew had an eotech 512 and needed some money so he sold it to me for a really good deal.. I took it to the range for the first time today and that thing was f-ing bad. i love it. You have the ability to make fast shots due to the 65moa ring and precision shots due to the 1moa center dot.. And as a testimony to the awesomeness of this sight when i went to the range today some friends came along. One of them had only fired a gun once in her lifetime(it was a 22) and i let her fire 20 rounds through my bushy with the EO at 100 yds and she raped the hell outa the target putting almost all the rounds in an area a little bigger than a basketball.. Now im not a great shot by any means but with the sight i was doin 2 in groups.. I also did shooting while moveing toward the target from about 40 yds and not one was off... so basically to sum it up the sight is awesome and can drastically impove your performace.. but thats just my opinion. Id still like to get an aimpoint.
