View Full Version : UID labels on mags?
Looking at Troy's website (the magazine section), it appears to show mags with UID tags on them. Is this a Troy thing or are .mil issue mags going in this direction?:

QR code yes but I don't think that looks like a UID sticker.
If .mil issued mags are switching over to this, nobody told my unit. Mags are tracked by any serial number in the army, just in quantity.
Its a QR Code not a UID tag.
Nothing to do with the .gov (or at least .mil - as the tinfoil around my head says its so folks can scan your mags
I have seen it on parts bins and supply lockers to do inventory and ordering with. Thats about it. Never seen them on any of our mags. It is only for the 10 round mags though so probably for IDing to go to restricted states.
It wouldn't surprise me at all if it links to an advertisement for the magazines. Something small, like a serial number, will make a smaller QR code than that. I can't get my phone to scan it from the picture.
