Maybe some of you have already experimented and know the answer to this, but I'd like to know myself. Let's say you zero the center dot of the EOTech using the IBSZ (50yd POA/POI). That should get you +/- 2" out to ~ 220 meters. With the center dot zeroed as above at what distance would using the bottom of the outer ring as a POA get you out to?

I guess you could use a 50yd target and raise the bottom of the ring to your aiming point and measure how high it hits from center and use a ballistic chart to calculate it (i.e. if it hits this high at 50yds it will hit POA at XXX yards) but I thought someone here would know.

ETA: Let's assume M4 length barrel with M855.

A quick calculation with my ballistics app puts the bottom of the ring at around 850 yards. Of course this is just theoretical data, but it should be close.

The table below shows 850 yards at 32.7 MOA (close enough for government work).

Holy crap! There goes that idea. :(

Doubt I'd be engaging something out that far, especially with an M4-style weapon.

Well if you don't want to engage at 850, the manual states the bottom ring at POA/POI is 7 yards. That's a tad closer. :)
